LHH (formerly Accounting Principals) is seeking a Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity with a growing construction-focused organization. This position is ideal for an experienced AR professional with a strong background in construction billing, invoice management, collections, and customer account reconciliation.

The Senior AR Specialist will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely billing, maintaining customer accounts, and supporting cash flow through effective collections and dispute resolution. Candidates with experience working with contractors, subcontractors, progress billing, and construction-related invoicing are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process high-volume construction invoices with a high degree of accuracy
• Manage customer billing, account maintenance, and invoice tracking
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and proactively follow up on past-due balances
• Work directly with project managers, customers, and internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies
• Process cash receipts and apply payments accurately
• Reconcile customer accounts and investigate outstanding items
• Assist with month-end AR reporting and account reconciliations
• Maintain documentation related to contracts, change orders, and billing support
• Support continuous improvement efforts within billing and collections processes

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounts receivable and billing experience
• Construction industry experience required
• Strong understanding of progress billing, contract billing, and invoice reconciliation
• Experience managing collections and resolving billing disputes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with subcontractor billing or job cost accounting
• Knowledge of lien waivers, construction documentation, or AIA billing
• Experience supporting large-volume customer accounts

Pay Details: $28.00 to $30.00 per hour
