HVAC Service Technician

Location: Orleans, MA | Lower Cape Cod

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $38–$55/hour, depending on experience

About the Opportunity

Snow’s Fuel Company is looking for experienced HVAC Service Technicians to join its team serving residential and light commercial customers throughout Lower Cape Cod.

We are hiring for multiple experience levels, from established service technicians with 4+ years of experience to senior technicians with 7+ years of experience.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys troubleshooting, and can confidently diagnose and repair heating and cooling systems without constant supervision.

Snow’s services a variety of equipment, including oil-fired, propane, and natural gas heating systems, central air conditioning, and ductless mini-splits.

Compensation

Compensation will depend on experience, technical capabilities, and ability to work independently.

• HVAC Service Technician II: $38–$45/hour (4–7 years of experience)
• Senior HVAC Service Technician: $45–$55/hour (7+ years of experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential heating and cooling equipment.
• Work on oil-fired, propane, and natural gas heating systems, central air conditioning, and ductless mini-split systems.
• Identify equipment failures and recommend appropriate repairs or solutions.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine service to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
• Independently manage assigned service calls and communicate findings to customers.
• Accurately document completed work, repairs, and recommendations.
• Coordinate with dispatch and the service department to ensure timely customer service.
• Participate in emergency and on-call service coverage as required.
• Maintain a professional appearance and deliver excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on HVAC service and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong understanding of residential heating and cooling equipment.
• Ability to independently diagnose and repair HVAC systems.
• Experience working with oil heat, propane, natural gas, central A/C, and/or ductless systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with homeowners and coworkers.
• Valid driver's license.
• Applicable Massachusetts trade licenses and certifications as required for assigned work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 7+ years of HVAC service experience.
• Strong experience diagnosing and repairing oil-fired heating equipment.
• Experience with hydronic heating systems, boilers, and furnaces.
• Experience servicing multiple types of heating and cooling equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex service issues with minimal supervision.
• Experience working in both residential and light commercial environments.

You do not need experience with every type of equipment listed to be considered. We are interested in speaking with experienced technicians who have strong troubleshooting skills and a willingness to learn additional systems.
