Electrician

Position Overview The electrician conducts, maintains, tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of Plant operations. Schedule and Shift Night shift (7 PM – 7 AM), rotating 2-2-3 schedule: work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days; then reverse the following week. Essential Job Functions Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gauges and test equipment. Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, including writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment. Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements. Maintain company‑required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment. Perform other related duties as required and assigned. Requirements Two‑year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or equivalent in a technical field. 3–5 years of proven experience in electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields with high proficiency. Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, including use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes. Ability to climb overhead structures, work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work. Exposed to high‑voltage electricity. Ability to push, pull or lift heavy objects and/or machine parts with or without assistance. Physical Requirements Repetitive movement; walking; kneeling, crouching and stooping; using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls. Lift up to 50 pounds while bending, twisting and/or standing. Compensation Starting pay: $30–$38/hr base pay plus $2/hr night shift differential.
