- The District Pharmacy Coordinator (DPC) plays a critical role supporting the effective coordination of scheduling in pharmacies across their market. With strong organization skills, high accountability, and consistent follow-through, the DPC ensures that all pharmacist schedules are created and published on time, with coverage and contingency plans in-place, to support day-to-day pharmacy operations and protect against business disruption. The DPC additionally supports the scheduling and staffing of outside immunization clinics, supporting client relationships and ensuring clinic teams are prepared for success. The DPC serves as a timekeeping administrator for market pharmacists and is responsible for accurate and timely execution of pharmacist payroll submission. As a key support to the Pharmacy District Leader (Rx DL), the DPC serves as a delegate to execute base changes, track and monitor vacation requests, manage pay code balances and may support additional administrative activities related to the compliant and effective functioning of market pharmacies, including but not limited to:
- Partnering with Rx DL to identify and close any gaps with PIC/POA registrations for each pharmacy location with the state Board of Pharmacy
- Escalating and/or following up on issues impacting effective pharmacy operations, e.g. TempAlert excursions, Service Channel tickets, store supply ordering, exception reporting, audits, etc.
- This is a non-exempt, 30-hour per week role; the DPC may choose to work 10 additional hours per week in a local CVS pharmacy as a Technician to augment their pay and stay closer to pharmacy operations in support of enhanced market performance.
- Set and maintain Pharmacist schedule for stores in the district, including creation and maintenance of Pharmacist templates, appropriate scheduling of DSPs, pharmacist vacation coverage, and the maintenance of staffing contingency plans (e.g., active and up-to-date call-list for sick call or other required unplanned coverage). Track pharmacist vacation balances and send regular reporting, reminders, and request to ensure pharmacists are utilizing vacation time, partnering with Rx DL for the timely review and approval of all pharmacist vacation requests. Partner appropriately to ensure any Pharmacists eligible for LOA & RA are supported and scheduled effectively. Strive to utilize pharmacist base hours effectively and partner with the Rx DL for timely review of HUB/HOB use. Escalate any financial risk (e.g. Hours Under Base) for the Rx DL’s attention. -60%
- Track and submit pharmacist payroll weekly, in accordance with the CVS Pharmacist Payroll Administrative Guide. Enter regular and other applicable non-work time (e.g. vacation, sick, etc.), enter any shift or market-specific requirements (e.g. night rates, predictability pay, etc.), and review for quality assurance prior to submission. - 10%
- Seasonally, manage vaccine clinic scheduling, including inputting clinics into the schedule three weeks in advance, checking the scheduling tool daily for additional clinic requests, revising pharmacist schedules to cover clinics, and preventing client escalations through proactive planning and balancing of priorities. Ensure coverage of any pharmacist holes in store schedules created by clinics that store pharmacists have personally secured and plan to staff. -10%
- Support additional administrative needs at the direction of the Rx DL to support day-to-day pharmacy operations, key initiatives, pilots and ensure safe, effective, and compliant pharmacy operations, e.g. Workday Delegate tasks/job changes (transfers, base changes), following up on PIC/POA registrations, COEs, TempAlert excursions, Service Channel tickets and escalations, audit remediations, etc. -20%
