Were looking for a Technical / Functional Business Analyst who can operate comfortably in both worlds: the realities of Operations & Finance, and the practical constraints of building software. This role is for someone who can listen deeply, ask sharp questions, map real workflows, and translate that understanding into clear, testable requirements that engineering teams can deliver with confidence.

This role begins as a consulting engagement with a right-to-hire path. Youll work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineers to reduce ambiguity, improve shared understanding, and accelerate deliverywithout sacrificing quality or control.

What Youll Do

• Lead discovery with stakeholders to understand current-state workflows, pain points, controls, and desired outcomes.
• Distill ambiguity into clarity: write crisp problem statements, scope boundaries, assumptions, risks, and success measures.
• Translate business needs into delivery-ready artifacts: process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and non-functional requirements.
• Partner with engineers and product owners to refine requirements, resolve tradeoffs, and keep execution unblocked.
• Support testing and validation: define test scenarios, help with UAT coordination, and ensure delivered features match intent.
• Maintain traceability: align requirements to outcomes and support auditability where needed (controls, approvals, data lineage).
• Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate analysis and documentation (summarization, drafting, comparison, gap analysis), while validating accuracy and protecting sensitive information.
• Communicate clearly and consistently: provide status, decisions, and open questions in a way that builds trust.

What Were Looking For

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, Technical BA, or similar role in software delivery.
• Strong discovery and requirements skills: you can move from conversations to structured, testable requirements quickly.
• Comfort in technical discussions: APIs, data flows, basic system behavior, and how to ask the right questions of engineers.
• Excellent written communicationyour artifacts are clear, concise, and usable by engineering and business partners.
• Strong stakeholder management: you build rapport, handle conflict professionally, and create alignment without force.
• Ability to think in workflows and data: process mapping, edge cases, exceptions, and operational controls.
• High integrity and maturity: you are transparent, consistent, and trustedespecially under pressure.

Nice to Have

• Experience in operations, finance, accounting, or control-oriented domains (reconciliations, reporting, hand-offs, approvals).
• Familiarity with agile delivery (stories, backlogs, iteration planning), while being comfortable in less mature environments.
• Experience working with data stores and queries (SQL basics), or partnering on reporting and analytics needs.
• Exposure to event-driven or workflow-based systems (messaging, orchestration), and understanding how these affect requirements and audit trails.
