Job Information Job Posting: July 6, 2026 Closing Date: July 19, 2026, 11:59 PM Eastern Time Primary Location: Off Site Organization: CMU Communications Schedule: Full time Contract Details Contractual Agreement: Non‑Staff - International PAHO Consultant Purpose This consultancy is for the Department of Communications (CMU) at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)/WHO. It supports CMU’s Multimedia and Social Media Initiative to strengthen PAHO’s digital presence through multimedia storytelling, social media engagement, analytics, and content production. Responsibilities and Deliverables Support planning, development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of PAHO’s social media and digital communications activities. Assist with content scheduling, planning, and uploading posts using Hootsuite Enterprise on a weekly or monthly basis. Draft and/or proofread social media copy (campaigns, news stories, captions, scripts, headlines, graphic texts) in English and Spanish. Generate performance and analytics reports (monthly or per campaign), summarizing key metrics, results, lessons learned, and recommendations. Conduct social listening via Hootsuite Enterprise and/or other insights tools to capture audience insights and emerging conversations. Support audiovisual content production for digital platforms, including selecting and adapting short video fragments (“shorts”), editing transcriptions, and preparing metadata or thumbnails. Coordinate with the multimedia team to ensure consistency across formats and alignment with visual identity and accessibility standards. Deliver final asset packages in editable and publication‑ready formats for storage and posting (e.g., Canva, Teams). Contribute to innovation in digital communication by applying best practices in social media channels, visual storytelling, accessibility, and audience engagement. Qualifications University degree in communications, journalism, digital media, marketing, public relations, social sciences, or related field. At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in social media management, digital communications, content development, audience engagement, or related fields. Demonstrated experience developing and implementing social media strategies and managing institutional social media accounts across multiple platforms. Experience with text, images, short‑form video, and other multimedia content for digital channels. Proven ability to monitor performance metrics, analyze audience engagement, and translate data into actionable recommendations. Experience supporting communication campaigns in international organizations, public institutions, or multicultural environments is desirable. Fluency in English or Spanish, with a working knowledge of the other language; knowledge of Portuguese and/or French is an advantage. Payment and Terms The consultancy will run from 1 August 2026 to 31 December 2026 (five months), with possible extension. Compensation is based on PAHO daily consultancy rates, approximately USD 260 per day within Band B, paid monthly upon submission and approval of deliverables.
