Jack in the Box Assistant Manager: Store 3087 Alpine, CA 91901 - $20.00 - $24.00 / hour - full time Job Description Responsible for managing restaurant operations, in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and Brand Promise. Primary responsibilities are to provide excellent internal service, external service, and building restaurant sales and profit while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Key Duties / Responsibilities Internal Service: Recruits, selects, trains, develops, and evaluates restaurant employees. Monitors staffing levels, implements training systems, identifies internal candidates for promotion, and maintains a friendly, fun, clean, and safe environment. Treats all employees with care and respect, motivates high performance, and complies with state and federal labor laws. External Service: Manages daily activities to achieve excellence in operational performance. Trains employees to deliver exceptional guest service and food quality. Monitors adherence to all JIB systems, procedures, and food safety requirements, responds to guest concerns promptly, and maintains a positive brand image. Higher Profits: Partners with the Restaurant Manager to analyze operational and financial performance, identifies trends, and implements action plans. Utilizes management information tools, reviews reports, and protects the JIB brand while monitoring costs and adhering to budget and goals. Assistant Restaurant Manager Responsibilities Guest Focus: Passionate about providing a high‑quality guest experience, understanding guest perspectives, and maintaining consistent, quality service. Food Quality / Safety: Demonstrates awareness and concern for food quality, safety, and restaurant cleanliness, and adheres to established systems. Business Management: Adaptable to changing demands, makes high‑quality decisions, delegates work, follows up, and maintains attention to detail. Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience: Internal Promote: Minimum 1 year as a Shift Leader or Assistant Manager; External Recruit: Minimum 3 years as an Assistant Manager with some P&L responsibility. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Minimum 18 years old, complete Assistant Manager training, ServSafe certified, English literacy, basic math proficiency, analytical skills, organization, planning, self‑starter, computer proficiency, valid driver’s license, insurance, and vehicle for business travel. Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk 85%-95% of shift, lift 10-65 lbs, move freely, operate restaurant equipment and a vehicle, and use a computer keyboard.
