You will be responsible for the research, design, development, and documentation of advanced mechanical systems for precision test equipment.Main Responsibilities:Design industrial test equipment/machines for the transportation industryAct as lead engineer on custom engineered projectsDesign of complete test systems including the integration of multiple systemsCheck designs and detailed drawings of other projects within the engineering departmentPerform preliminary design and development drawings and specifications necessary to support equipment and tooling modifications to improve safety and reliabilityConceptualize and design test equipment/machines from the customer specificationConduct feasibility studies, analytical modeling, create and modify drawings, create and modify bills of materials, create and modify product manualsMeet cost, manufacturing, and key milestone targets for products designed and developedWork with engineers, technician and program managers to obtain and or define system requirement and specificationsServe as a primary technical resource for assigned new and existing products and equipmentMaintain proper documentation related to products and projectsCorrespond and interface with customers and vendorsEnsure work is performed in a safe manner using all available safety equipment.All other related duties as assigned.Possess mental faculties consistent with performing the minimum requirements of the job.Adhere and perform all duties aligned with the core values of the LINK Group organization, Can-Do Attitude, Courage, Commitment, Humility and Accountability.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum of 5 years of related work experience in equipment or machine designMinimum of 5 years of experience in design of complex assemblies and automation componentsMinimum of 5 years of experience with Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD systemKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Knowledge in hydraulic & pneumatic systemsDemonstrated competence in the design of mechanical and or electromechanical systemsAble to establish and maintain effective working relationship with managers, supervisors and employeesAble to prepare complex written reports and other documentationExcellent communication skills: verbal, written, & interpersonalStrong Microsoft Office skills.Physical Requirements:Ability to walk.Ability to speak verbally and read in English.Ability to see with corrective lenses.Ability to hear.Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.Ability to use a computer.Able to work evenings and/or weekends as required.Able to travel up to 10% domestically.Hazards:Normal hazards related to working in an office environment.Normal hazards related to working in a manufacturing and testing environment.Normal hazards related to road and air travel.LINK is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer Minorities/Females/Veterans/Disabled.
