About The Team The Reliability Platform role is a key pillar of DoorDash’s Production Lifecycle team, alongside Observability and Deploy Platform. This group’s mandate is to enable users and agents to reason about the health of our services, facilitate change control safety, and provide the means to rapidly address any unexpected state. Ownership is fundamental: we provide tools that enable success and ensure consistently high quality. We approach challenges pragmatically as SREs, delivering solutions with a software engineer mindset that detests toil and repetitive tasks. We use software and agents to keep the lights on and focus on innovation that levels up the organization. This mission falls into three main categories: Service Health – Providing SLO frameworks, analytics tools, and AI Agent enablement to extract high quality insights from telemetry to pinpoint faults or highlight deficiencies. Change Orchestration – Providing self‑service provisioning orchestration, evolving from UI to agent‑driven, allowing developers to safely affect production from their IDE. Incident Management – Defining and delivering tools/processes/policies leveraged by peers to quickly understand and recover from any unexpected issues in the environment. Our work spans software development and systems integration, always focused on satisfying over 4,000 internal customers and simplifying infrastructure complexity so teams can focus on product. About The Role As a Software Engineer on the Reliability Platform team, you’ll help design, build, and operate services and infrastructure that deliver on this mandate. You may work on mission‑critical back‑end services or pipelines, orchestration workflows, self‑service UI, or AI Agent improvements. AI tools are fully embraced, but we remain pragmatic to ensure critical infrastructure isn’t compromised. Recent examples of team efforts include: Framework to capture, alert, and report on SLO quality across tens of thousands of endpoints. Replacement of escalation management tools tied to the internal Asset/Team Catalog for automated alert routing. Delivery of MCP back‑end for Reliability Platform data/tools, enabling use by peer teams. Orchestration tools for self‑service provisioning of critical infrastructure (Kafka topics, databases, CPU/GPU pools, service scaffolding). PoC for internal SRE AI Agentic tooling leveraging MCPs and domain profiles to replace FAQs/runbooks. Per‑pod realtime configuration key‑value tooling enabling runtime feature‑flag management across the fleet. We’re Excited About You Because You Have… Platform engineering mindset focused on APIs, abstractions, and workflows. 5+ years in infrastructure, platform, or backend engineering, driving complex systems. Backend development skills: fluent in Go (or a similar language), delivering scalable, resilient, performant services. Cloud/infra expertise: comfortable with AWS primitives, security best practices, containerization, IaC tools such as Terraform or Pulumi. SRE experience: understanding of SLOs, error budgets, and incident response. Flexibility to work on cool/fun tasks while automating improvements. AI alignment: embracing AI tools to improve productivity across tasks. Curiosity about automation, agentic, AI‑assisted operations, shaping engineer interactions with production. Compensation Base salary is localized according to location. The U.S. pay range for this position is $159,800 — $235,000 USD. Compensation includes opportunities for equity grants.
