Sr. Auditor, Consumer Lending

Overview Sr. Auditor, Consumer Lending Capital One’s Audit function is a dedicated group of professionals focused on delivering top-quality assurance services to the organization’s Audit Committee. Audit professionals are experienced, well-trained and credentialed, and operate within a collaborative, agile environment to deliver value-added opinions and recommendations. Capital One is seeking a data-focused, self-motivated Senior Auditor for the Consumer Lending Audit team, focusing on planning and performing operational and compliance audits for Capital One’s US Card and Auto Finance businesses. Responsibilities Perform risk assessments of business activities and execute testing based on risks and processes; communicate issues, risks, and recommendations to all levels of management. Operate independently and ensure work is completed on schedule and meets high-quality standards. Develop and maintain strong, effective working relationships with key business partners and the extended Audit group. Leverage data and analytical tools during planning and fieldwork phases of audit delivery. Proactively follow up on agreed audit actions to ensure management delivers commitments within the agreed timescales. Seek learning opportunities to enhance skills and competencies related to the role. Demonstrate the ability to explore and grasp new technologies to progress varied initiatives. Collaborate across audit teams to design and develop tools and techniques for audit insights and data visualization. Drive analysis that provides meaningful insights through audit work and influences business practices. You create an environment of trust, collaboration, and belonging to attract and retain top talent. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or military experience. At least 2 years of experience in auditing, accounting, financial analysis, risk management, and/or compliance (or a combination). At least 1 year of experience performing data analytics or developing data solutions in support of internal audit. At least 1 year of experience using SQL, data visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI), and AI. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree in Auditing, Accounting, Information Systems, or MBA. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or relevant certification. 2+ years of experience in banking, financial services, or related professional services. 1+ year of experience using AI-assisted tools in internal audit. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries are for candidates hired to work in the specified locations and may vary by location; part-time roles will be prorated. Charlotte, NC: $87,700 - $100,100 for Senior Staff Auditor; McLean, VA: $96,500 - $110,100; Plano, TX: $87,700 - $100,100; Richmond, VA: $87,700 - $100,100. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range for that location. The actual salary will be reflected in the offer letter. This role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses or long-term incentives (LTI).
