Assistant Professor – CE Track - Assistant Director of ClinicalImmunology Laboratory - Children's Hospital of Philadelphia(CHOP) Location: Philadelphia, PA Open Date: Sep 16, 2026 Deadline: Sep 16, 2028 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Pathologyand Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at theUniversity of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an AssistantProfessor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track.Expertise is required in the specific area of clinical immunologyand flow cytometry. A strong preference will be given to applicantswith experience in innovation and clinical assay development.Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D degree. MD applicants mustbe board certified in Clinical Pathology (AP/CP or CP) and eligiblefor medical licensure in Pennsylvania. PhD applicants must haveappropriate fellowship or postgraduate training and be boardeligible or certified by DMLI(ASCP), certified by ABMLI, or holdother appropriate qualifications for leadership in ahigh-complexity clinical laboratory. Teaching responsibilities may include training Immunology andRheumatology clinical fellows, residents, medical and graduatestudents, and clinical laboratory scientists. Clinical responsibilities may include assisting in oversight of theClinical Immunology Laboratory, clinical test interpretation andconsultation, quality assurance, and development and implementationof new diagnostic assays. The candidate will support testing forprimary immunodeficiencies/inborn errors of immunity, immunedysregulation disorders, and other complex immune-mediatedconditions. Research or scholarship responsibilities may include translationaland collaborative work in clinical immunology, immunedysregulation, functional immune testing, emerging immunotherapies,and innovative laboratory diagnostics. The successful candidate will serve as Assistant Director of theClinical Immunology Laboratory. Demonstrated expertise in flowcytometry and advanced clinical test development is stronglypreferred. Experience with functional immune assays and testingrelated to immunodeficiencies, emerging immunotherapies or cellulartherapies is desirable. The candidate will contribute to thedevelopment and expansion of the laboratory's diagnosticportfolio.
