Job ID: 36274 Agency: Department of Social Services / SD Human Services Center Location: Yankton, SD Salary: $16.68 Hourly, depending on qualifications Pay Grade: D Closing Date: 6/17/2026 This is a Part‑Time ≥ 20 Hours Weekly position with the Human Services Center working Monday – Friday; a 4 hour block between 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. For more information on the Human Services Center, please visit Job Summary This position participates as an active member of the medical records team and is focused on maintaining patient medical records to ensure compliance with overseeing agencies and accuracy of information. The role requires navigating computers easily, establishing and maintaining data systems, gathering and providing information, maintaining medical records electronically and in paper form, and ensuring secure transmission of personal information in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA). Ideal Candidate Knowledge of: Business English including grammar, spelling and punctuation Office 365 Office equipment, including scanners Ability to: Type accurately Read and comprehend materials Gather, compare and summarize data from a variety of sources Operate a variety of office equipment Communicate information clearly and concisely Exercise tact, patience and discretion when communicating and dealing with persons of varying backgrounds and temperaments This position is eligible for Veterans’ Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
