Senior Estimator

Job Description

Here at Central Civil, We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead the preconstruction and estimating process from initial pursuit through bid submission. This role will oversee estimating activities, develop accurate project budgets, manage subcontractor/vendor pricing, and serve as a key point of contact for clients, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead estimates, bids, budgets, quantity takeoffs, and cost evaluations for complex construction projects.
\n
• Review plans, specifications, scopes, and contract documents to develop accurate and competitive estimates.
\n
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing and scopes.
\n
• Lead and mentor estimating staff and review estimates for accuracy and completeness.
\n
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers.
\n
• Identify project risks, value-engineering opportunities, and cost-saving alternatives.
\n
• Manage the bid process, including bid tracking, solicitations, scope reviews, clarifications, and final proposal submissions.
\n
• Collaborate with project management and operations teams on constructability, schedules, budgets, and project requirements.
\n
• Support business development and client relationship efforts.
\n
• Maintain estimating databases, cost trends, and preconstruction procedures.
\n
• Ensure bids and proposals are accurate, professional, and submitted on time.
\n

Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
\n
• 10+ years of construction estimating experience , preferably with large and complex projects.
\n
• Proven experience leading competitive bids in public and private sectors.
\n
• Strong subcontractor/vendor relationships and knowledge of construction pricing.
\n
• Excellent leadership, communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Strong proficiency with Hard Dollar or equivalent estimating software, AGTEK, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat .
\n
• Experience with Bluebeam, Primavera P6, BidExpress, BidSync, or HCSS is preferred.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently with strong attention to detail.
\n
