Duty Manager

At the heart of our business is our people. Role Purpose The Duty Manager will be directly responsible for overseeing ramp supervisors, GSE maintenance, and aircraft maintenance personnel. The Duty Manager will take accountability for safety, resource management, operation standards, policy implementation, client relations, and financial performance. Salary $65,000.00 – $70,000.00 Responsibilities Full accountability to the GM for Health & Safety issues, operational and financial performance Planning resource allocation in each business unit Routine liaison with customer representatives Liaison with internal and external customers and agencies Producing routine reports Supporting the development of the business units with accurate and timely project work Leading the station equipment planning cycle Ensuring compliance with all internal and external operational and administrative requirements Suggesting improvements to working practices, especially those related to safety and security Following all security procedures as required Other duties as assigned Safety, Security, Wellbeing and Compliance Employees have a responsibility to take reasonable care of the health, safety and wellbeing of themselves and others in accordance with provided information, training and workplace rules. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience; or two to five years of related experience and/or training Prior ramp experience required Prior management, supervisory or lead experience in the aviation industry preferred Must be 18 years of age or older Possess and maintain a valid US driver’s license with a clean driving record Must pass pre‑employment drug screen and all pre‑employment testing Proficient reading, writing and speaking in English Excellent communication skills Ability to remain calm under pressure Excellent time‑management skills and minimal supervision required Ability to work with a multinational workforce and adjust to local station conditions Excellent knowledge of cargo/ramp GSE Working knowledge of the IATA Standard Ground Handling Agreement Ability to develop the supervisory team, provide succession planning and re‑engineer business processes as needed Ability to support other stations as required and ensure own station responsibilities are covered when on leave Proven track record in managing a business unit Comfortable with lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 70 lbs occasionally Comfortable working in all weather conditions Available and flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays Report any significant deficiency in products, materials and documents Organizing and planning skills, with the ability and initiative to react effectively and quickly to unexpected circumstances Diversity and Equal Opportunity Menzies Aviation is a committed equal opportunity employer and encourages applications for suitably qualified and eligible applicants regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, pregnancy and maternity.
