Assistant Nurse Manager of NICU & Pediatrics- Night Shift
The Assistant Nurse Manager of NICU & Pediatrics will step into an exciting leadership opportunity with a nationally recognized healthcare organization in beautiful San Diego. This night-shift role is ideal for an experienced neonatal nurse leader who is passionate about clinical excellence, staff development, and delivering exceptional care to infants and children. The NICU & Pediatrics Assistant Nurse Manager will support two specialized units with a strong focus on high-quality, family-centered care.
The Level III NICU is supported by approximately 120 FTEs, while the Pediatrics department includes approximately 55 FTEs. This is an excellent opportunity for a leader who enjoys working with complex patient populations and supporting large, highly skilled nursing teams. Reporting alongside nursing leadership, the Assistant Nurse Manager NICU/Pediatrics will help oversee staffing, patient flow, clinical operations, quality initiatives, and staff development during the night shift. The leader will serve as a visible resource for nurses and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to promote safe, efficient care. Charge nurse experience is welcome, while prior management experience is strongly preferred. The Assistant Nurse Manager of NICU & Pediatrics must hold an active California RN license and have Level III NICU experience. RNC-NC certification is required. Candidates should have at least one year of relevant leadership or charge experience, with prior management experience preferred. Strong communication, clinical judgment, and the ability to support staff in a fast-paced environment are essential.
