Summary: As a Senior Data Engineer in Research IT, you will play a critical role supporting BristolMyersSquibb’s Foundational Data Products, including CoreReg, SubstanceMart, DARE, and AssetMart. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and enabling data‑driven decision‑making that accelerates our research and development mission. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines supporting Foundational Data Products (CoreReg, SubstanceMart, DARE, and AssetMart) Integrate data from diverse sources, ensuring consistency, quality, and accessibility across platforms Implement best practices in data governance, data quality, and data security Partner closely with data scientists, researchers, and cross‑functional stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver impactful solutions Optimize data processing workflows for performance and scalability Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, data models, and integration processes Proactively identify and resolve data‑related issues, ensuring reliability and accuracy Stay current with the latest technologies and best practices in data engineering and apply them to continuously improve processes Qualifications & Experience Required: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in data engineering or a related role Proficiency in Databricks with a strong focus on data engineering Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) Experience with data warehousing and data lakehouse solutions (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake) Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Glue Studio, Informatica PowerCenter) Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills; ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Preferred: Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI) Preferred: Knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts Preferred: Experience with regulatory compliance and data privacy standards Preferred: Understanding of the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry Compensation Overview Princeton – NJ – US: $137,530 – $166,654 Tampa – FL – US: $137,530 – $166,654 The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full‑time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job‑related knowledge, and experience.
