Job Description:

About our group:

• The Engineering Specialist II provides hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, and engineering-related services in a fast-paced environment.
• This role is responsible for diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, operating system, storage, and file system issues while supporting engineering and business operations.
• The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver with strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical support for engineering systems, workstations, storage devices, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues.
• Install, configure, maintain, and support Windows, Mac OS, and Linux-based systems.
• Assist with system imaging, software deployments, upgrades, and patch management.
• Support and troubleshoot file systems, storage configurations, and RAID environments.
• Document technical issues, solutions, procedures, and best practices.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and resolve technical challenges.
• Follow established processes and procedures while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy.
• Provide excellent customer service and technical assistance to internal stakeholders.
• Maintain equipment inventory and ensure proper handling of technical assets.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
• Adhere to all safety, security, and compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on technical experience supporting engineering, IT, or related technical environments.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working independently with minimal supervision while effectively contributing as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Experience supporting: Microsoft Windows operating systems Apple Mac OS Linux operating systems
• Basic understanding of file systems, including: FAT NTFS HFS+ APFS EXT
• Basic understanding of RAID technologies, including: RAID 0 RAID 1
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting engineering labs, testing environments, or technical operations.
• Familiarity with storage systems and data management concepts.
• Experience documenting technical procedures and troubleshooting guides.
• Knowledge of hardware diagnostics and system performance analysis.
• Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer workstation for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, reaching, and handling technical equipment.
