What You'll Do:
As a Registered Nurse in our PCU, you will provide expert nursing care for various patient conditions including AFIB/RVR, DKA, HTN, COPD, Post-Heart Cath, and stroke overflow, among others. Your role involves monitoring patient vital signs, managing titratable medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, and Heparin, and utilizing specialized equipment like chest tubes, traches, and peritoneal dialysis. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure each patient receives personalized, high-quality care.


Required Skills:

• Current RN license with at least 2 years of acute care experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH certification
• Proficiency in titratable gtts including Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, Levophed (manager approval required if experience isn't present)
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam before start date
• Knowledge of chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and peritoneal dialysis (preferred)
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with CSF (lumbar) drains and Istat testing
• Experience supporting or managing ventilated patients
• Ability to adapt quickly to different units, including stroke and med-surg

Preferred Education and Experience:

• RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in a hospital setting
• Previous experience in a PCU or similar specialty unit preferred

Other Requirements:

• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH
• Valid nursing license and compliance with all state and federal regulations
• Ability to work flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Must wear appropriate scrubs (Pewter color), badges, and adhere to dress code policies
• Capable of working across multiple units including stroke and med-surg, with appropriate ratios
• Parking available in designated areas, with a commitment to maintaining a professional appearance and patient safety standards
