Terminal Operations Manager

Overview A well-established industrial materials company is seeking an experienced Senior Terminal Operations Manager to lead a high-volume bulk distribution terminal serving the greater Atlanta market. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of terminal operations, including safety, logistics, inventory management, maintenance, customer service, and team leadership. The Senior Terminal Operations Manager will lead all daily terminal operations, ensuring efficient and safe movement of bulk materials while managing a team and maintaining high standards of customer service. Responsibilities Lead all daily terminal operations, including inbound and outbound bulk material movement via rail and truck. Manage, coach, and develop terminal personnel while fostering a culture centered on safety, accountability, and operational excellence. Coordinate inbound deliveries, inventory levels, storage capacity, and outbound distribution to ensure reliable customer service. Partner with transportation, logistics, sales, and operations teams to optimize product flow and meet customer demand. Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while promoting continuous improvement initiatives. Oversee terminal operating budgets, maintenance planning, equipment reliability, and overall operational performance. Ensure preventive maintenance programs are executed for terminal equipment and infrastructure. Serve as the primary operational contact for customers, resolving issues quickly while maintaining strong business relationships. Maintain accurate operational records, inventory reporting, maintenance documentation, and compliance records. Support process improvements, operational efficiencies, and future terminal expansion initiatives as business needs evolve. Qualifications Seven or more years of progressive leadership experience in terminal operations, bulk material distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or heavy industrial operations. Experience managing bulk commodities such as construction materials, aggregates, cement, chemicals, grain, minerals, or similar products is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of rail and truck logistics, inventory management, material handling systems, and terminal operations. Demonstrated success leading operations teams in a safety-focused industrial environment. Experience managing operating budgets, maintenance programs, and performance metrics. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, DOT requirements, and environmental compliance. Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational or inventory management systems. Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
