Records Technician

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM–5:30 PM Work Arrangement: 5 days per week in office Compensation: $70,000–$80,000 base Employment Type: Non-Exempt A prestigious professional services organization is seeking a Records Technician to join its team in New York City. This individual will support the Records function by maintaining accurate physical and electronic records, ensuring adherence to established procedures, and providing timely support to internal stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience working with records management systems in a fast-paced environment. Experience with iManage is a strong plus, particularly iManage Records Manager. Responsibilities Maintain, organize, and update physical and electronic records in accordance with established policies and procedures. Utilize and navigate records management software and other related systems. Respond to internal requests and inquiries regarding records and files in a timely and accurate manner. Transfer inactive files to and from storage in accordance with file maintenance procedures. Research and retrieve information from files for authorized users. Collect and organize materials from various departments and employees for filing. Track materials removed from files and follow up to ensure borrowed items are returned promptly. Support records-related projects and initiatives for various business groups. Manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Work closely with internal stakeholders to provide high-quality records support. Perform additional duties and projects as needed. Qualifications Strong knowledge of file management and records retention systems and procedures. Experience with records management software; iManage experience is highly preferred , with iManage Records Manager experience a plus. Previous experience in a records-focused role, such as a Records Analyst, Records Technician, or similar position . Experience working in a legal or professional services environment is preferred. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage competing deadlines effectively. Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and customer service skills when working with internal stakeholders. Ability to lift and carry file or storage boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience Approximately 1–10 years of relevant experience; candidates with strong records management backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
