Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with vascular/endovascular experience for a hospital surgical services department on a 26-week contract.

Details

Hospital surgical services department with 15 OR suites, including hybrid and cardiothoracic rooms, plus PACU, sterile supply, pharmacy, and scheduling support areas

Vascular/endovascular-focused surgical program with limited open vascular procedures

Case types include EVAR, TEVAR, TCAR, atherectomy, thrombectomy, aortography, dialysis access procedures, carotid and femoral endarterectomy, fem-pop bypass, and venous procedures

26-week contract with Monday-Friday schedule from 0630-1500

Call requirements include every other day and every other weekend

Requirements

Minimum of 7 years of surgical technology experience

Strong preference for peripheral vascular intervention and endovascular case experience

Technical Diploma from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or comparable military training

BLS certification required

NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) required

License required if applicable

Additional Information

Serve as primary scrub person or assistant for operative procedures

Prepare for surgical cases by ensuring instruments and supplies are sterilized and available, and maintain the sterile field during setup

Pass instruments, assist the physician, and may cut suture material or apply electrocautery to clamps under direct supervision

Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts, and collaborate with the circulating nurse throughout the case

Complete post-case cleanup including gross decontamination of instruments, proper transport to Central Sterile, and restocking the suite for the next procedure

Maintain compliance with hospital education, HR, and Employee Health requirements

Accepts candidates within a 75-mile radius; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
