You will prepare bidders' lists, qualify bidders, form bid packages, issue bid requests, participate in negotiations, recommend commitments, secure approvals, communicate with suppliers and monitor supplier performance. Your efforts are to ensure potential and current suppliers comply with purchase order requirements and provide the required service and results to meet project needs.Major ResponsibilitiesPrepares bidders' lists and qualifies biddersCommunicates with Engineering to assist and/or guide them in the preparation of material requisitions for the procurement of materials and equipment and to achieve the understanding needed to process these requisitionsForms bid packages and issues bid requests, coordinates bidders' questions, and receives bidsPrepares Commercial Bid Summary and recommendations to awardCommunicates with suppliers and personnel within Bechtel to establish clear definition of requirements and to assure performance to purchase order requirementsIdentifies, defines, and secures agreement regarding purchase order changesInitiates and processes purchase order revisions that establish scope and effects on cost and schedule of agreed upon changesEducation and Experience RequirementsRequires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge and SkillsRelated Bachelor's degree and at least 8-10 years' experience in commercial aspects of procurement of major equipment and bulk materials and supervision; or at least 10 years' experience in commercial aspects of procurement of major equipment and bulk materialsHas worked on large projects (>$1billion) in a Purchasing Supervisor roleDemonstrated knowledge of the legal and commercial aspects of global procurement of equipment and materialsPreferred – familiarity with equipment and processes associated to DataCenter ProjectsTotal Rewards/BenefitsFor decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
