Operating Room Open Heart Nurse (RN) Saint Louis, Missouri. This role involves providing specialized cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical care within a high-level trauma facility. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment. The position offers a dynamic environment with urgent emergent cases and a variety of complex procedures.

Job Details

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license in Missouri or a compact state (no issuance if tied to another compact state) and in-hand license in Illinois at the time of submittal. Two years of experience in cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery is required; one year considered if in a Level 1 trauma facility. Certifications: BLS and ACLS. Education: BSN preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with heart and lung transplants, scrub experience in cardiovascular, thoracic, or transplant surgery, and proficiency with EPIC charting system.
• Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts, rotating as needed; includes weekday and weekend call shifts prior to and during the schedule.
• Additional Information: The role demands scrub and circulate skills, with primary cases involving cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries, including transplants and high-acuity procedures. Must have sufficient Level 1 trauma experience, and the department follows strict on-call and emergency response protocols. Travelers will float within the service line as needed.
