About the Position

Physical Therapist (PT) - Inpatient. Days. Owosso, MI. Hospital.

We are seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to join an acute care hospital team in Owosso, MI. The clinician will evaluate and treat patients across the lifespan who present with functional deficits due to illness, injury, musculoskeletal dysfunction, or congenital conditions. The role includes independent clinical decision-making, development and implementation of individualized treatment plans, delegation and supervision of PTAs and support staff, documentation, patient and family education, and interdisciplinary coordination. This is a direct hire opportunity with weekend requirements and standard hospital duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Graduate degree in Physical Therapy (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral) from an accredited program.
• Eligible for and able to obtain state of Michigan PT licensure prior to start.
• Successful completion of all required field work placements.
• Demonstrated competency in physical therapy principles and techniques.
• Field experience in physical therapy, including acute care or hospital settings preferred.
• Ability to provide supervision to PTAs and other support staff.
• Ability to meet essential physical, sensory, and motor requirements for patient care, including lifting and moving patients when required.
• BLS certification may be required from AHA or ARC prior to start.
• Willingness to work the posted schedule: days, start 7:30 AM, 80 hours per pay period, weekend requirement.
• Candidate must not have applied directly to the facility for this opening if submitted by an agency, per VMS requirements.

Preferred Qualifications and Role Details:

• Experience in acute care, outpatient, and post-acute settings is applicable to duties.
• Experience as a clinical instructor or mentor for PT/PTA students is desirable.
• Proficiency using modern office and electronic medical record systems.
• Ability to adapt in fast-paced, changing clinical environments and to communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
