Audiology Opportunity - Greater Detroit

Performs audiological and vestibular function testing; develops hearing correction plans of care for patients with audiological impairments. Responsibilities Performs diagnostic testing to assess patient's hearing and vestibular status and to determine appropriate treatment. Conducts comprehensive and personalized evaluations of hearing test results. Educates and counsels patients, caregivers, and family members regarding the type and severity of the patient’s hearing loss, and the hearing challenges that are affecting their life. Reviews hearing aid technology, styles, and pricing structure with patients, caregivers, and family members to find the most appropriate and affordable hearing device for the patient’s individual needs, lifestyle, and budget. Develops, documents, implements and evaluates each patient’s hearing correction plan. Conducts patient outreach as necessary to ensure compliance with recommended treatment plans. Provides hearing device cleaning, service, and modifications. Applies for and maintains eligibility in accepted health plans. Schedules preventative maintenance, safety checks, and repairs of audiometric equipment. Participates in the education and supervision of audiology students, externs, and technicians. Other duties assigned as needed. Education Masters of Audiology (M.A.) or Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) required. ASHA Certification preferred. Experience Strong customer service experience. Experience working in a medical office or setting preferred. Experience with electronic medical records preferred. Licensure / Certification / Registration Audiologist license to practice in the State of Michigan obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred. Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Friendly and personable. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and/or Office 365. Ability to use email and electronic calendars. Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to apply principles of logic to a wide range of practical problems.
