Student Life Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY Under the direction of the Director of Student Life, the Student Life Coordinator will oversee the daily facility arrangements for events on the Loras College campus, supervise the daily operations of the mailroom, advise the College Activities Board and Intramurals program and assist with student organizations. Essential Functions Statement(s): Given that the College is a diocesan Catholic college, will carry out your functions of your position in support of the College's Catholic Identity, mission and in support of Church teachings. Responsible for overseeing, managing and monitoring all event bookings and department functions for internal and external constituents. Coordinates facility needs associated with campus events, programs, meetings, and external rentals, including room setup, furniture and equipment needs, custodial services, building access, and other facility-related requirements. Responsible for compiling and maintaining event reports and records. Responsible for for advising and managing programs and activities of the College Activities Board and Intramurals. Maintains calendars of campus events, including but not limited to the SharePoint calendar and the Stall Street Journal, ensuring accurate and timely event information. Assumes responsibility for ensuring professional business relations with internal and external constituencies. Responsible for the operations of the mailroom. Responsible for Student Organizations on campus including assisting students in implementing new organizations, maintain college records of recognized organizations and serving as a resource for students. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and working relations with area staff and management. Effectively directs and supervises assigned student employees, ensuring optimal performance. Manages campus postings in accordance with College policies and procedures. Plan, organize and implement annual Student Life events and programs. Assists with retention efforts of the Student Life Office Serves as office manager for the Student Life Office, including maintaining office equipment such as printers and scanners, ordering office supplies, coordinating general office needs, and maintaining monthly expense reports. Performs related duties as assigned. SKILLS & ABILITIES Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree Required and three or more years of related experience. Other Requirements: Knowledge of related computer systems and applications. Understanding of basic event scheduling procedures. Good communication and public relations skills. Excellent oral and written communication abilities. Well organized and attentive to detail. Willing to cooperate with and assist others. Supervisory experience preferred. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Sedentary work.
