Program Specialist

Under the general supervision of the department leadership, the Program Specialist is responsible for coordinating staff activities, department programs, and day-to-day oversight of the operational and administrative functions of the program to enhance and improve departmental workflows and programs. This position creates timely reports for the department and other key stakeholders and communicates with both internal and external contacts, providing service to resolve complaints, maintain relationships, handle meetings, or deal with similar sensitive relations.

Essential Functions

• Provides assistance and support to the department leadership and support staff.
• Assists with strategic projects/programs and events related to the department's initiatives.
• Contributes to department programs and initiatives.
• Create and manage communications related to the department project/program activities.
• Effectively communicate with all levels within Johns Hopkins Medicine on project/program activities.
• Create and distribute reports and agendas, and maintain a system for project/program milestones/deliverables.
• Attend internal/external meetings related to departmental projects/programs.
• Perform tasks necessary for maintenance and improvement of project/programs within the department.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience. One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience, or one year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.

Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) years' relevant experience.
