Youth Basketball & Soccer Coach
After-School Elementary School Programs – San Jose Area
After School Life is looking for energetic, responsible, and enthusiastic Youth Basketball and Soccer Coaches to lead after-school sports programs at elementary schools throughout the San Jose area .
This is a great part-time opportunity for college students, current/former athletes, coaches, PE students, and individuals who enjoy working with children .
Position Responsibilities
- Lead fun, organized, and age-appropriate basketball and/or soccer classes for elementary school students.
- Teach basic sports skills and fundamentals in a positive and encouraging environment.
- Plan and lead warm-ups, drills, skill-building activities, and games.
- Teach teamwork, sportsmanship, cooperation, and respect.
- Keep students actively engaged throughout the class.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students.
- Provide appropriate supervision during the entire class.
- Communicate professionally with school staff and the After School Life program team.
- Arrive on time and be prepared with a lesson plan and necessary equipment.
- Follow all school and After School Life policies and procedures.

Qualifications
- Basketball and/or soccer playing or coaching experience preferred.
- Experience working with elementary-age children is a plus.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Energetic, patient, dependable, and responsible.
- Comfortable managing and leading a group of children.
- Positive and professional attitude.
- Must be able to pass required background screening and school clearance requirements.
- College students and current/former high school or college athletes are encouraged to apply.
Immediate hiring Position:
Basketball Coach for Monday starting 9/14/2026.
Class time 2:30 - 3:30 pm.
Pay rate $60 per class.
Session Length 9/14 - 11/2 (8 weeks)
