AVP Reinsurance Specialist

Location and Working Arrangement Based in New York. Hybrid role requiring at least three days in the office each week. Responsibilities Advise individuals on assessing and submitting client and/or reinsurer presentation materials and communications to resolve complex questions and secure reinforcer agreements and payment of claims and account balances. Authorize KPIs and other system tools to manage complex transactional processes, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, effectively, and in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and regulatory requirements. Participate in team and department meetings to share ideas, knowledge and solutions, and contribute to the evolution of the operational model through technology‑enabled process improvement. Consult on accounting/claims processes for RFPs and sales opportunities to drive business growth. Develop strategies for reinsurance audits/reviews, review open claims and/or premium activity, and reconcile records to facilitate quality audit processes. Counsel peers on complex reinsurance developments, provide training, mentoring, and guidance on all aspects of reinsurance service processing. Requirements / Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in reinsurance, insurance, accounting, or claims. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Preferred Qualifications In‑depth knowledge of reinsurance concepts, laws, regulations (e.g., FATCA), contract law and provisions. Proven success in client account management, relationship building, engagement, and development. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for complex interactions, including presentations and negotiations with clients, markets, and global colleagues. Benefits Base salary range: $73,600 to $132,500, with potential performance‑based incentives.
