Program Manager, Ambulatory Services - Spine Center - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)

Program Manager – Spine Service Line The Program Manager is responsible for growth, planning, programming, development, and operations, including patient experience and transitions of care between inpatient and outpatient services for the Spine Service Line. Departmental Specific Summary Reporting to the Director of Clinical Operations, the Program Manager oversees multiple areas: increasing referral base through community outreach to physicians, primary care, medical and radiation oncologists; working with the managed care team on payer relations; enhancing inpatient and outpatient team communication; collaborating with marketing and development departments; and improving family‑centered care through an integrative multidisciplinary approach. The Program Manager works with the Medical Director and Director of Clinical Operations to define and achieve operational goals for the USC Spine Center and satellite clinics, aligned with institutional objectives across the four pillars: Patient Care, Education, Research, and Community Outreach. The PM analyzes data to increase access and growth, reduce costs, and create efficiencies, engaging in process improvement and program implementation to facilitate multidisciplinary projects. They collaborate with medical staff, management teams, and external partners to develop business intelligence, support physician relations, and drive payer relationships. Essential Duties Maintain liaison relationships between Keck Medicine of USC Ambulatory Services, Keck School of Medicine, and Keck Medical Center of USC through meetings and written/oral communication. Coordinate and integrate program services at intra‑, inter‑, and hospital‑wide levels, establishing strategies for growth, efficiency, and patient experience. Lead process improvement and quality control projects supporting departmental and institutional goals. Promote a positive customer‑service culture, enhance the image of the USC Spine Center, and ensure seamless integration of patient experience across the continuum of care. Oversee standardized care plans with the multidisciplinary team; maintain patient education materials and track outcomes. Ensure compliance with TJC and regulatory standards, including DHS and Title 22. Assist with budgeting to achieve financial performance, satisfaction targets, and quality outcomes. Demonstrate openness to change, implementing creative programs aligned with strategic initiatives. Coordinate activities with internal and external departments, resolving resource‑use issues and maintaining open communication. Conduct operations in an ethical, responsible manner. Collaborate with marketing and Spine physician leadership to develop tactics that increase reputation, patient volume, and social media presence. Lead business development, including collaborations, outreach, education programs, and community outreach; manage joint ventures or partnerships. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Master’s degree in Business Administration, MHA, MPH, or related field preferred. 3 years of experience in a healthcare operational environment (preferably spine surgery) with progressive management experience. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills for handling sensitive situations and confidential information. Poise, tact, diplomacy, and good judgment. Ability to collaborate across departmental lines and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers. Self‑starter, self‑directed, and driven to excellence in all aspects of the role. Effective decision‑making with appropriate stakeholder input. Client‑service orientation, both internal and external. Ability to multi‑task and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment. Professional mannerisms, appearance, and executive presence. Knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations. Working knowledge of healthcare payment models, physician practice management, revenue cycle, payer contracting, managed care models, and ACA structure. Experience in business of healthcare, data analysis, quality improvement, and regulatory issues related to service‑line coordination. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Business Administration, MHA, MPH, or related field preferred. Required Licenses/Certifications Fire Life Safety Training (LA City).
