We are Guardians of Great Ideas, and we are looking for exceptional talent to join us. Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Associate to join our Intellectual Property practice. The Associate will support a broad IP portfolio, providing counseling and enforcement services across patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights, and licensing. The role combines prosecution, transactional work, and litigation support for both plaintiff and defense matters, with opportunities to take ownership of client matters and contribute to business development. Key Responsibilities Manage client matters across the full spectrum of IP work, including patent and trademark prosecution, maintenance, and portfolio counseling. Draft and prosecute patent and trademark applications, prepare office action responses, and coordinate with foreign counsel for international filings. Prepare and negotiate licensing, joint development, confidentiality, and settlement agreements; advise clients on trade secret protection and IP commercialization strategies. Conduct freedom‑to‑operate, validity, and infringement analyses; prepare written opinions for clients and internal use. Support IP litigation and dispute resolution: draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, claim construction briefs, and appellate filings; assist in trial preparation and witness preparation for both plaintiff and defense roles. Manage discovery, e‑discovery, and document review; work with experts, vendors, and co‑counsel to develop case strategy. Perform due diligence for M&​A, financings, and strategic transactions; compile and analyze IP diligence reports. Counsel clients on copyright issues and digital rights management as they relate to products and marketing materials. Maintain accurate matter management and billing records; mentor junior attorneys and paralegals as needed. Participate in business development and client relationship activities, including presenting seminars and contributing to proposals and pitch materials. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction (active license required). 3+ years of experience in intellectual property law. Experience with patent and trademark prosecution, trade secrets, and copyright counseling; demonstrated drafting and negotiation skills in licensing agreements. Hands‑on litigation experience, including drafting briefs, managing discovery, and supporting trial preparation for both plaintiff and defense matters. Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills; ability to produce clear, strategic opinions and client‑facing documents. Comfortable handling multiple matters simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and managing client expectations. Technical background or degree in engineering, computer science, biotechnology, or a related field is a plus for patent‑related work. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; experience collaborating with clients, experts, and cross‑functional teams.
