Communications Dispatcher, Entry-Level

Position Overview Communications Dispatcher – Entry-Level with the South San Francisco Police Department. Responsible for handling routine and emergency telephone and radio traffic, dispatching police, fire, public works, and other municipal services using two‑way radio, maintaining communications logs, and performing related duties. Responsibilities Receive and transmit routine and emergency telephone and radio traffic. Dispatch and coordinate police, fire, public works, and other municipal staff and equipment via multi‑frequency two‑way radio. Maintain and process communications reports, records, and radio logs. Perform related work as required. Qualifications Minimum one year of work experience requiring maturity and responsibility with public contact. High school graduate or equivalent; additional education in law enforcement or communications experience desirable. Possession of a POST Entry‑level Dispatcher Selection Test Battery certificate with a T‑score of 48 or higher obtained within the past 12 months.
