DescriptionOverview:The Baldor FSQA Compliance & Systems Manager leads the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs, systems, and compliance initiatives across all Baldor operations, including warehousing, transportation, cross-docks, Fresh Cuts, Golden Meat, and Pierless Fish. This role serves as the owner of FSQA systems, document control, regulatory compliance programs, certification management, audit and corrective action programs, supplier compliance, traceability, recall readiness, and food safety performance reporting, ensuring compliance with FDA (including FSMA), USDA, state and local regulations, and certification standards such as SQF, AIB GMP, Organic, Kosher, and other applicable requirements. The position partners closely with Operations, Transportation, Procurement, Sales, Facilities, Human Resources, and site FSQA teams to maintain standardized food safety and quality systems, support regulatory and certification readiness, monitor compliance performance, develop and track key performance indicators, identify and mitigate compliance risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across the organization while providing leadership, guidance, and development for the Compliance & Systems team and site personnel.Responsibilities:Own, develop, and continuously improve Baldor’s Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, including and related platforms.Manage and maintain corporate food safety and quality programs, including Food Safety Plans, HACCP Programs, Supplier Approval, Food Defense, Allergen Control, Environmental Monitoring, and other compliance programs.Own and administer the corporate audit program, including scheduling, pre-audit readiness, audit execution leadership, and post-audit CAPA coordination. Serve as the primary auditor-facing contact for customer, regulatory, certification, and third-party audits across all Baldor facilities, in coordination with site FSQA and Operations teams.Own and administer the corporate CAPA program, including documentation standards, tracking, trending, and closure performance reporting. Define corrective action requirements, assign accountability and drive closure for regulatory, certification, and supplier findings; administer closure requirements and recordkeeping for operational findings in coordination with the FSQA Operations teamDevelop, track, trend, and report food safety, quality, and compliance metrics to leadership.Coordinate and maintain certification programs including SQF, HACCP, AIB GMP, Organic, Kosher, and other applicable standards.Own corporate regulatory compliance programs; serve as the primary point of contact for FDA, USDA, state, and local regulatory agencies during inspections and communications; and provide guidance to operational teams and leadership on regulatory requirements, certification standards, and compliance expectations.Manage supplier compliance documentation, approvals, certifications, and monitoring activities.Manage the customer complaint program, including intake, investigation coordination, trending, root cause analysis, and regulatory reportability assessments. Develop and communicate complaint performance summaries to FSQA leadership and relevant stakeholders.Own recall readiness, traceability, and mock recall program administration, including procedure maintenance, exercise design, and results evaluation and recordkeeping; coordinate exercise execution with the FSQA Operations team.Identify opportunities for systems and compliance process improvement, standardization, automation, and risk reduction across the organization.Partner with cross-functional departments to ensure compliance requirements are effectively implemented and maintained.Develop reports, presentations, and executive summaries related to food safety, quality, compliance performance, audit results, and improvement initiatives.Develop food safety, quality, and compliance training programs, content, and materials in partnership with the FSQA Operations team. Maintain training recordkeeping. Support delivery of training as needed.Supervise, develop, and mentor Compliance & Systems Specialists and other assigned personnel.Conduct food safety assessments for Manufacturing equipment purchase requests, evaluating equipment against HACCP, allergen control, cleanability, and applicable regulatory and certification standards. Document findings and provide approval recommendations prior to purchase.Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. Requirements:Comprehensive knowledge of food safety, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and food manufacturing and distribution operations.Strong understanding of FDA, USDA, FSMA, HACCP, GFSI-recognized certification standards, traceability, supplier approval, recall management, and food defense programs.Demonstrated experience leading compliance programs, audit programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.Experience administering Quality Management Systems and document control programs.Strong analytical, critical thinking, and root cause analysis skills.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Strong organizational and project management capabilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members.Ability to lead corrective action and continuous improvement projects resulting from audits, inspections, complaints, and internal assessments. Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Food Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience will be considered.5+ years of progressively responsible experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Compliance, Quality Systems, or related disciplines.Experience within food manufacturing, food processing, warehousing, distribution, or transportation environments required.Experience managing food safety certification programs and regulatory compliance systems.PCQI certification.HACCP certification.SQF Practitioner, Internal Auditor, FSVP, or related food safety certifications preferred. Technology Skills:Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.Quality Management Systems – SafeFood360 or equivalent.Warehouse Management Systems – HighJump or similar.Work Environment:M-F Day Shift. Weekends as needed. Ability to work in a warehouse and food processing environment.
