The job

You run the business office for a 120-bed skilled nursing facility. Billing, collections, resident trust, payer verification, and the financial side of every admission. You report to the Administrator and work closely with admissions and corporate accounting.

This building changed ownership September 1 and we are rebuilding it. You would be joining early, with room to shape how the office runs.

What you will do

Bill Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private pay accurately and on time, and work the AR until it is collected.

Verify insurance and benefits on every admission, and know what each payer will and will not cover before the resident walks in.

Manage Medicaid pending applications from start to approval, chase the documentation, and tell admissions early when an application is not going to qualify.

Maintain resident trust accounts in full compliance with federal requirements, separate from operating funds and reconciled monthly.

Handle private pay billing, statements, and collections, including conversations with families.

Prepare the month-end close package and work with our accounting team on reporting.

Keep the census accurate in PointClickCare, because everything downstream depends on it.

Be the person residents and families come to with a billing question and get a real answer.

What we are looking for

Two or more years in a skilled nursing or long-term care business office. This is the requirement that matters. SNF billing is its own discipline and we are not able to teach it from scratch.

Tennessee Medicaid experience, particularly Medicaid pending applications. This is the single most valuable skill for this role.

Working knowledge of Medicare Part A and Part B billing, managed care authorizations, and the difference between what is bundled and what is billed separately.

PointClickCare experience preferred.

Comfortable with Excel and comfortable being accurate. This job is detail work and mistakes cost real money.

Someone who will tell the Administrator when something is wrong rather than letting it sit.

High school diploma required.
