Job Role: <

The <

6G SMAW Pipe Welder <
/strong>
is responsible for performing high-quality welds on pipe ranging in size from ¾" to 18" (primarily 2"-6"). The welder will independently set up, fit, and complete welds on critical refrigeration components such as compressors, vessels, evaporators, and condensers. This position operates on 1st shift, Monday through Friday, with alternating Saturdays. <

Key Duties: <

Ul>
<
Li>
Weld pipe ranging from ¾" to 18" diameter, primarily 2"-6"<
/li>
<
Li>
Weld pipe runs on critical components (compressors, vessels, evaporators, oil separators, condensers, and other prefabricated parts)<
/li>
<
Li>
Cut, bevel, and fit pipeaccurately <
/li>
<
Li>
Set up and perform open root welding (no insert)<
/li>
<
Li>
Achieve welding productivity targets (e.G., 50 diameter inches in 8 hours)<
/li>
<
Li>
Perform load rigging, torch cutting, and leveling using measurement tools <
/li>
<
Li>
Operate grinders and wire wheels <
/li>
<
Li>
Assist shop team with insulation, electrical, and painting tasks as needed <
/li>
<
Li>
Perform other duties as assigned on the job site <
/li>

Must be able to pass a 6G SMAW weld test (2" schedule 80 steel stick, 6010 root, 7018 cap - uphill weld, 45-degree angle)<

Familiarity with rigging, torch cutting, grinder and wire wheel operation, leveling, and measurement tools <
