Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), Day Shift, Home Health

Responsibilities Work under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist to provide rehabilitative services to patients, aiding them to recover, improve, and maintain daily living skills. Assist in providing rehabilitation services for patients suffering from physical, mental, developmental problems, congenital or accidental injuries, surgeries, etc. Monitor patients’ health issues and requirements, ensuring necessary support is provided. Help patients work through rehabilitative exercises and treatments as suggested by the occupational therapists. Feed patients, dress them, change beddings, and help maintain personal hygiene. Maintain and order equipment used in treatment, and give regular progress reports to doctors. Document patients’ progress reports and make necessary changes in the treatment plan as suggested by the doctor. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree from an accredited COTA program preferred. Site-specific experience preferred (minimum of 1 site-specific clinical affiliation required). Licensed in the State of Maryland. Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. First Aid Certification issued by the American Heart Association. Valid driver’s license with agency insurance requirements. Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 5 visits per day with on-call weekend rotation. Pay Range $25.63 - $35.89 per hour.
