Digital Sales AI Engineer

Context & Impact Lansweeper is launching a Free Product, and you own the moment free users become paying customers — at scale, not one deal at a time. This role blends a GTM engineer with an SDR. You'll manage close to a thousand accounts. Your job: build the AI agents, intent signals, and automated flows that convert and onboard the majority of that book with no manual touch — then spend your actual time on the ~10% of accounts with real conversion or expansion potential. To be clear, this is a true 50/50 role. Half your time goes into building the systems; the other half goes into actually working and closing your highest-potential accounts — you carry a number and you're expected to hit it. This isn't traditional inside sales, and it's not a stepping stone to a smaller book of bigger accounts. It's for people who want high volume and want to build the machine that makes it manageable. First hire in the US, one peer in EMEA. Challenge The main challenges you'll face are: Scale and prioritisation — You'll manage roughly 600–700 active leads at any time, with ~30 new ones daily. Balancing live conversion work with building systems that make it more scalable is the core tension. Revenue comes first, but automation is what makes it sustainable. Greenfield environment — The processes, automations, and AI-driven workflows don't fully exist yet. You'll be building without a complete playbook, in close collaboration with RevOps, Marketing, Engineering, and the Free Product Core Group. New role in a new team — You need to be self-sufficient and able to manage ambiguity without losing focus. Key Responsibilities Own free-to-paid conversion — Use product usage, behavioral signals, and AI-generated intent data to identify and engage high-potential free users at the right moment, guiding them toward a self-serve purchase flow. Build and refine the digital sales engine — Design automated workflows, define triggers for when automation acts vs. when a human intervenes, and continuously experiment with conversion paths, messaging, and offers. Collaborate cross-functionally — Work with RevOps/BizApps, Marketing, Engineering, and the Free Product Core Group to bring automated nurture sequences, self-serve buying flows, and AI-driven guidance systems to life. Onboard and activate new customers — Co-create a scalable, automated onboarding experience that gets new paid users to value fast, with minimal manual intervention. Be the human safety net — Step in for high-value conversions, complex expansion moments, or friction automation can't resolve. Never the default touchpoint — always the strategic accelerator. Key Requirements Hard skills: 2–3 years in SDR, BDR, inside sales, or digital sales — ideally in SaaS Experience with sales automation, email sequencing, cadence tools, and CRM platforms (Salesforce a plus) Familiarity with product-led growth (PLG), self-serve, or low-touch SaaS sales motions Comfort with high-volume, data-driven funnels — not traditional outbound or enterprise selling Ability to read and act on product usage data, behavioral signals, and intent indicators Soft skills: Unflappable under ambiguity — the environment shifts fast; you keep moving regardless Curiosity-driven and self-directed — you ask "how can I do this better?" before "can someone help me?" Scalability mindset — you think in systems and automation-first; you never build something you could only do once AI Specific Skills Lansweeper is an AI-native company, and AI fluency is a hard requirement for this role — not a nice-to-have. This role is built around AI-first execution. You'll work with AI-generated intent signals and behavioral data to prioritise conversion opportunities, design automated nurture workflows, and work alongside Salesforce AI agents and BizApps tooling. The constant question is: "What can I automate, and is this the most efficient way to do it?" We're not asking you to build full-stack applications — RevOps handles that. We need someone who defaults to AI as their first tool : to analyse data, draft messaging, build lightweight automations, and orchestrate workflows at scale. In your assessment, you'll receive a large, complex dataset and a task that simply cannot be completed manually in the time given. That's intentional. We want to see how you work — not what you've memorised. The ideal candidate doesn't work longer when faced with 600+ leads — they build smarter. Team Info You'll join the Digital Sales team , working closely with RevOps/BizApps, Marketing, Engineering, and the Free Product Core Group. Team size: currently 1 in the US (this hire), with one peer in EME. Based in Austin, TX with an on-site expectation of 2–3 days per week . Our Offer Salary: Discuss with the recruiter.
