About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Risk & Safety to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, establishment, and leadership of the risk management and safety functions. This includes the identification and evaluation of risks related to the organization and its operations, as well as the implementation of strategies to minimize and control these risks. The role involves procuring, negotiating, and managing complex insurance policies, strategic management of claims and litigation, and overseeing the company's health and safety programs to reduce the frequency and severity of employee injuries. The VP will also be involved in the leadership of enterprise risk management, transportation safety programs, and environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives. Applicants for the Vice President, Risk & Safety position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a science-related discipline, with a Master's degree preferred, and significant experience in a similar executive role within a public company. The role requires a deep knowledge of commercial insurance, OSHA regulations, environmental laws, and advanced safety practices. The ideal candidate will have superior strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as a proven track record in data analysis and project management. Experience with DOT regulations, vehicle telematics systems, and certifications in safety or environmental process management are advantageous.
