Environmental Site and Conveyance Project Engineer The Environmental Site and Conveyance Project Engineer independently performs project assignments with instructions from the Project Manager on a wide range of water and wastewater treatment sites and sanitary sewer and water distribution projects across Colorado, including rural towns, cities, and mountain projects. The Engineer will prepare civil sheets for Environmental Department projects, receive technical guidance on complex problems, and obtain supervisory approval on proposed plans. The role requires applying extensive civil engineering knowledge during planning, design, and construction of environmental and infrastructure projects, typically with 4‑8 years of experience. Location Boulder, CO 80302 (Primary) Denver, CO 80202 Fort Collins, CO 80524 Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 Winter Park, CO 80482 Responsibilities Design site and conveyance projects to solve complex problems Prepare written technical reports and project specifications to communicate design details to the project owner and contractor Participate in municipal agency review meetings for project permitting to support approval of water and wastewater treatment projects Collaborate during client review meetings at each phase of design to communicate and problem‑solve updated design details Support other project team members, including Principal, Project Manager, Design Engineer, and others, to achieve deliverable goals and meet project deadlines Provide on‑site and office duties during construction administration by producing construction observation reports, processing change orders, and maintaining shop drawing and RFI logs Salary Range: $90,000 – $105,000 Required Qualifications Knowledge of Engineering Principles: Familiarity with complex engineering elements including site design, grading and drainage, utility design, report preparation, constructability reviews, and engineering estimates, using creative problem solving for project completion Prioritize and Pivot Effectively: Produce high‑quality results while balancing multiple projects and priorities to support various teams and deadlines Communication: Quickly adapt to others using different communication forms to connect and convey information via phone, text, email, and/or chat, and remain open to feedback for continuous improvement Active Listening: Give full attention to instructions, understand points presented, and proactively ask clarifying questions as needed Collaboration: Successfully work within a group to complete a project collectively Initiative: Self‑motivated to think ahead and proactively support project teams to solve problems and meet deadlines Delegation: Assign and train Design Engineers to produce high‑quality deliverables and enhance professional development Software Utilization: Demonstrated expertise with preparing construction drawings, calculations, and reports with AutoCAD Civil3D and applicable civil engineering software packages Technical Reading and Writing: Research, comprehend, and communicate technical design criteria and details to project teams and clients Preferred Qualifications Ability to obtain P.E. License within one year of hire: Have the required combination of education and engineering experience to be able to obtain a P.E.
