Location and Compensation Location: Avera Behavioral Health Center, Sioux Falls Pay Range: $24.50 - $48.50 (actual pay rate dependent upon experience) Sign‑on bonus eligible up to $15,000 Position Highlights Adult B Unit: 28‑bed therapeutic environment for adults 1 RN for 7‑8 patient ratio Flexible scheduling program Student Loan Repayment Program: up to $10,000 with $167 monthly payment Opportunity to work with 60+ coworkers in a positive environment Role Overview Deliver nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, defining interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. Responsibilities Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan to the health care team Coordinate with other healthcare providers and provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting physical and psychological status, conferring with family, and establishing nursing diagnoses and objectives Teach healthcare requirements, explain medications and self‑care skills, and answer questions Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, reviewing records, and re‑evaluating goals Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection‑control policies and medication procedures Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records Maintain functioning of patient care equipment and supplies by troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and ordering Maintain competence in nursing capabilities as outlined by leadership Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) with an active license in the state of practice 1‑3 years experience working in a clinical environment Ability to work rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays Clear vision and strong communication skills Ability to comply with state and federal regulations and organizational policies Expectations and Standards Commitment to Avera’s mission, vision, core values, and social principles Promote values of compassion, hospitality, stewardship, and CARE (Communication, Attitude, Responsiveness, Engagement) Maintain confidentiality Work effectively in a team environment and coordinate workflow Comply with safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards (CMS, Joint Commission, DHHS, OSHA) Benefits Paid Time Off available starting day 1 for eligible hires Up to 5% employer matching contribution for retirement Career development through hands‑on training and mentorship Equal Opportunity Statement Avera is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
