Director of Information Technology

I'm partnering with a well-established, growth-oriented distribution business to identify a Director of Information Technology who enjoys building strategy while remaining close to the day-to-day execution of the business. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for someone who wants to influence the direction of technology across both domestic and international operations while helping shape the company's next phase of growth The Opportunity As Director of IT, you'll lead the organization's technology function, overseeing infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, analytics, systems administration, and strategic technology initiatives. You'll work closely with executive leadership to ensure technology supports business growth, operational excellence, and long-term scalability. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute the organization's IT strategy while leading day-to-day technology operations. Lead and mentor a team responsible for business applications, infrastructure, systems administration, and analytics. Ensure enterprise systems remain secure, reliable, scalable, and aligned with business needs. Drive technology transformation projects from planning through successful implementation and adoption. Partner with executive leadership to align technology investments with business objectives. Oversee ERP, CRM, WMS, and other critical business systems that support operational performance. Manage external technology vendors and service providers. Support multiple US locations while collaborating with international teams. Champion cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology, automation, and data-driven decision making. What We're Looking 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience. Experience within distribution, manufacturing, or another operationally complex environment. Strong background across infrastructure, networking, enterprise applications, systems administration, and analytics. Proven success leading ERP implementations, migrations, or optimization projects. Strong technology transformation and project leadership experience. Experience supporting multi-site operations and leading small, high-performing teams. Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with a hands‑on approach. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across the organization.
