Job Description & Requirements
Vice President, Medical Affairs-Physician Enterprise
StartDate: ASAP Pay Rate: $ - $
The Opportunity:
Catholic Health is seeking an accomplished physician executive to serve as Vice President Medical Affairs, Physician Enterprise (VPMA) . This senior leadership role is responsible for the strategic direction, clinical performance, and continued growth of the Physician Enterprise, Ambulatory Care services, and Clinical Councils.
Reporting directly to the Chief Physician Executive for Catholic Health , the VPMA provides executive leadership for the clinical practice management of 250+ physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), ensuring alignment with organizational goals, quality standards, and Catholic Health's mission. The VPMA directly oversees the Physician Enterprise Dyad Medical Directors, Ambulatory Care Medical Directors, Ambulatory Care Quality Medical Director, assigned Physician Enterprise physicians and providers, the Senior Director of Clinical Councils, and Clinical Council Chairs.
The VPMA will lead the development and implementation of clinical programs, evidence-based protocols, and clinically integrated care networks while fostering strong collaboration among physician practices, hospitals, ambulatory services, and community partners. The VPMA will support provider compensation strategies, physician and APP integration, contract development and management, and service line expansion. The role is accountable for ensuring full compliance with governmental, regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards across the Physician Enterprise and Ambulatory Care settings.
As a key member of the executive leadership team, the VPMA partners with the SVP, Vice President of Operations, Physician Enterprise, Dyad Medical Directors, Dyad Administrative Directors, and other system leaders to align physician practices, improve access to care, enhance patient outcomes, and advance operational excellence. The position provides strategic oversight for physician recruitment, retention, leadership development, practice acquisition opportunities, market growth initiatives, quality performance, productivity, and financial stewardship.
This leader works collaboratively with Catholic Health administration, hospital leadership, Catholic Medical Partners, and medical staff leaders to strengthen clinical integration and maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of patient care delivery. The VPMA champions a culture that is patient-centered, evidence-based, interdisciplinary, and focused on continuous improvement in safety, quality, patient experience, and cost management.
Additional responsibilities include educating physicians and caregivers, supporting interdisciplinary care teams, establishing clinical standards, and implementing strategies that promote coordinated, high-quality care. Through close collaboration with medical leadership across the system, the VPMA builds relationships that streamline patient triage, improve care coordination, and support the delivery of evidence-based care within a patient-centric model.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a visionary healthcare leader to shape the future of physician services, drive clinical transformation, and advance Catholic Health's commitment to delivering outstanding care to the communities it serves.
