This position will be responsible to obtain pricing through various procurement processes for a variety of commodities and services; research the marketplace to identify new vendors and stay updated on pricing trends. The individual may advise on contract terms and conditions as well as policies and procedures. They will also review and sign certain contracts related to purchases.ResponsibilitiesPrepare bid sourcing events, evaluate bid proposals, leads review committees and ensures proper procedures are followed in compliance with University and State policies. Issues purchase orders. Confers with University departments regarding requirements, specifications, and deliveries. Advises departments on purchasing policies and procedures and provides vendor sources. Review and research purchasing requests. Will involve direct contact with vendors/suppliers. Comply with and maintain knowledge of rules, legislations, regulations, standards, and best practices. May train and guide technical/clerical support staff. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus two years of experience or 6 years of equivalent experience in a similar role will also be considered.
