We design, build, launch, and operate the world's largest constellation of satellites, enabling a global internet network unbounded by traditional ground infrastructure limitations. Starlink also designs, builds, and delivers high-volume consumer hardware that allows users to connect to these satellites within minutes of unboxing, as well as our advanced gateways that we deploy regionally throughout the world. The root of SpaceX’s success so far lies in our mission to keep all engineering and production in-house, enabling a tight feedback loop, nimble decision‑making, and speedy deliverables. With millions of daily users worldwide already online, Starlink is a true game‑changer and levels the playing field for those who were previously unconnected. The Starlink facility in Bastrop is the newest and fastest growing site at SpaceX. With millions of square feet of manufacturing space, this site is currently responsible for the development and production of all terrestrial hardware for Starlink, including customer‑facing devices and products that we ship directly to end users (Starlink dishes/user terminals, Wi‑Fi routers, etc.). Our users include teachers in remote Amazon, researchers in Antarctica, digital nomads traveling by RV, emergency responders, commercial airlines, cruise lines, and residential users in rural or developing areas. The Bastrop site also hosts next‑generation ground stations and core insourced manufacturing efforts like printed circuit board, solar cell, and silicon packaging production, enabling us to fully own our product lifecycle and drive continuous improvements at record pace. It will also become the center of gravity for future AI satellite development and production. Below are a number of electrical teams that are eager to hire top engineering talent at the new graduate level: Board level design – Design, develop, and verify highly reliable gateway electronics and customer products that communicate with our satellites RF & Antenna – Design, fabricate, and characterize prototypes of antennas, feed systems, and RF front ends for next‑generation phased arrays, gateways, and consumer wireless products Process – Implement advanced manufacturing processes spanning PCB fabrication, silicon packaging, solar‑cell processing, etc., cementing SpaceX as a leading in‑house manufacturing entity in the United States Test – Design, develop, and program novel and automated test solutions capable of testing tens of thousands of units each day Reliability – Spearhead failure analysis and root‑cause efforts while partnering with design and production teams to ensure that all hardware leaving our factory is reliable in the real world Controls – Lead creative, multi‑disciplinary projects spanning machine design, robotics, motion systems, and factory health monitoring to form innovative, high‑rate factories that deliver internet to those who need it most Compliance – Drive product‑level compliance for EMC, radio, and wireless technologies, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met to facilitate global market access, brand protection, and product safety of Starlink Facilities – Ensure the safety and efficiency of our electrical distribution systems by improving various factory systems site‑wide, including substation, switchgear, power distribution, lighting, UPS, motor control centers, VFDs, and generators Responsibilities Drive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, PCB layout, and prototyping of complex electrical designs Drive hardware bring‑up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, and test of complex electronics Create simulation models of hardware to evaluate performance Contribute to pre‑silicon verification, chip bring‑up, and post‑silicon validation Write automation software in Python to interact with units under test, test equipment, instrumentation, and documentation systems Provide engineering support for the design, operation, improvement, and troubleshooting of facility electrical components and systems Challenge assumptions and work to find simple solutions to complex problems Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or another STEM discipline 1+ years of experience designing or analyzing circuits, electronic products, or hardware (internships/co‑ops and club projects can apply) Graduating with a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or PhD in 2026 or 2027 Preferred Skills And Experience Experience designing and implementing mixed‑signal circuit boards using processors, FPGAs, Ethernet, multi‑GHz SerDes, DRAM interfaces (DDR4), I2C, SPI, operational amplifiers, analog‑to‑digital and digital‑to‑analog converters, and power supply components Experience with test equipment and measurement techniques to verify and validate product requirements (oscilloscope, multimeter, electronic load, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, vector signal generator, source measurement unit, etc.) Experience in environmental testing such as HALT/HASS, thermal, humidity, shock & vibration Demonstrated understanding of electrical schematics and electronics manufacturing to analyze and improve test coverage Demonstrated understanding of computers and programming languages (Python, C/C++) Exposure to a variety of production machinery, industrial sensors, and equipment (motion systems, dispense systems, temperature controllers, laser distance sensors, etc.) Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements Additional Requirements Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed ITAR Requirements To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
