Custodian Position at Unionville ElementaryWe are seeking a dedicated and reliable Custodian to join our team at Unionville Elementary. This part-time position is essential for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and exhibit a commitment to excellence in custodial services.Responsibilities:Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.Ensure that all facilities are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition, adhering to health and safety standards.Monitor and restock supplies in restrooms and other areas as needed.Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for school events and activities.Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify and address maintenance issues or safety hazards.Respond promptly to cleaning emergencies and special requests from staff or administration.Follow established procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.Maintain custodial equipment and report any malfunctions or the need for repairs.Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a positive and effective school environment.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous custodial or maintenance experience is a plus.Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects.Good communication skills and a positive attitude.Must pass a background check and meet any other requirements set by the school district.
