Colleague ERP Consultant

Seeking to hire a Colleague ERP Consultant for a leading higher education IT Services company to work with a University in Houston, TX. The Director of ERP provides strategic and operational leadership for the institution's enterprise resource planning systems. This role oversees the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of ERP SIS PeopleSoft solution to support administrative and academic functions. The position ensures system reliability, security, and alignment with institutional goals while fostering collaboration across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of ERP professionals, analysts, and technical staff to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
• Manage and oversee PeopleSoft (Campus Solutions, Financials, HR, etc.) and integrated 3rd party systems to support University goals.
• Develop and execute ERP strategies for system optimization, upgrades, and long-term sustainability.
• Direct large-scale ERP and integration projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and stakeholder alignment.
• Manage seamless integrations between PeopleSoft and third-party applications, ensuring efficient data flow and compatibility.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements, streamline processes, and implement system improvements.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all ERP and integrated systems through strong governance practices.
• Oversee reporting and analytics to support data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Manage vendor and consultant relationships, including contract negotiations, service delivery, and issue resolution.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance ERP functionality and performance.
• Maintain business continuity through robust disaster recovery and risk mitigation strategies.
• Establish and enforce best practices, standards, and documentation for ERP development, integration, and maintenance.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

Experience:

• At least 10+ years of experience in ERP systems management, with a minimum of 5+ years specifically focused on PeopleSoft applications (Financials, HRMS, SCM, etc.).
• Proven track record of leading ERP implementations, upgrades, and integrations within large, complex organizations.

Technical Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of PeopleSoft application suite and associated technologies (e.g., PeopleTools, Application Engine, SQR, etc.).
• Familiarity with integration technologies such as SOA, Web Services, REST APIs, and middleware solutions (e.g., Dell Boomi, Oracle Integration Cloud).

Certifications (Preferred):

• PeopleSoft Certified Implementation Specialist or similar certification.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar project management certification.

Work Environment & Location:

• Location: This is an onsite position based at our office in Houston, Texas.
• Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, with occasional after-hours or weekend support as needed during system upgrades or troubleshooting.
• Travel: Minimal travel required for vendor or team coordination, typically within the state or region.
