Position Summary The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records across Affinity Group's Food Service and Retail divisions. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this role handles day-to-day bookkeeping functions, supports month-end close, and ensures that financial data is organized, reconciled, and ready for reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-moving sales and brokerage environment. Accounts Payable & Receivable Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and check requests accurately and on time. Record and apply customer payments; follow up on outstanding receivables. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies with internal teams and external partners. General Ledger & Month-End Close Maintain the general ledger; post journal entries weekly. Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis. Support the month-end and year-end close process by preparing schedules and variance analyses. Payroll & Expense Support Assist with payroll processing and reconciliation. Review and process employee expense reports in accordance with company policy. Cross-Divisional Coordination Maintain accurate records for both the Food Service and Retail divisions, keeping accounts properly coded and segmented. Work closely with the sales, operations, and brokerage teams to resolve coding questions and support vendor or customer inquiries. Qualifications Required 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience. Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) or similar accounting software. Strong Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas). Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes. High attention to detail and accuracy; ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset. Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Experience with food brokerage, distributor, or multi-division accounting environments. What We Offer Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
