Bookkeeper

Brief Job Description: This is a Part-Time position as Bookkeeper of the Greater East Buffalo Family of Parishes comprised of St. Katharine Drexel Parish and St. Stanislaus Parish with worship sites at St. John Gualbert, St. John Kanty, and St. Adalbert. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports. Bookkeeping tasks, check preparation, bank reconciliations, payroll preparation, year-end reporting, and other day-to-day financial requirements. Preparation of the annual budget and comparison and analyses of actual revenues and expenses with budget. Maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, accounting standards and diocesan financial and reporting requirements. Administering employee benefit programs and update policies as required by changes in laws or practices. Identifying opportunities for enhanced financial performance and operating efficiency within the financial and other operating areas of the parish. May include review of contracts for the parish. Work with diocese representatives on shared services and support (such as insurance, finance, payroll and benefits, buildings and grounds and other functional support areas provided by the diocese). Attend and participate in Finance Council and other meetings as required. Other tasks that may be requested or required by the pastor. Qualifications: Required Education/Experience: BS in Accounting, Business or Finance or related discipline. Experience in accounting and financial reporting and compliance. Ability to interact and maintain positive relationships with staff, volunteers, finance council and external parties on parish related matters. Excellent communication skills. Excellent computer skills with accounting software (PDS Ledger), Excel, Word and related software used for the business. Desired Skills: MS Word and Excel Ability to learn Parish Data Systems (PDS) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Detail Oriented Ability to work both independently and as part of a cohesive team Confidentiality is required Salary: $20.00-$25.00 per hour #J-18808-Ljbffr
