Travel Overnight Inpatient Pharmacist

A hospital in Iowa is seeking an experienced Travel Night Shift Pharmacist for an immediate opening. This 13+ week assignment offers a consistent 7-on/7-off schedule, providing excellent work-life balance while gaining valuable inpatient experience across multiple units. The pharmacist will play a key role in supporting overnight operations and ensuring safe, effective medication use throughout the facility.

Responsibilities:

• Perform order verification and ensure accurate medication dispensing
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians during overnight shifts
• Provide pharmacokinetic dosing and clinical recommendations
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding medication therapies
• Support pharmacy services across all hospital units, including critical care
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards

Qualifications:

• Active Iowa Pharmacist License (required)
• 1+ years of recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
• Experience or familiarity with critical care (CCU) patients preferred
• Ability to work independently in a night shift environment

Skills:

• Proficiency with EPIC and Pyxis systems
• Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced hospital setting

Work Hours:

• Night Shift: 9:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• 7-on / 7-off rotation
• 70 hours per week (during active week)
