Maintenance Assistant

ARGYLE SENIOR LIVING Maintenance Technician Environmental Services | Denver, Colorado Who We Are

Argyle Senior Living is a non-profit, stand-alone community founded in 1874 by the Ladies Relief Society of Denver. For a century and a half, we've served the seniors of this city, and today our beautiful community sits in the historic Highlands neighborhood of Denver, carrying that same founding purpose forward. We exist to deliver high-quality, affordable, dignified, and enriching senior living experiences, and we hold ourselves to an elite standard called: Unreasonable Hospitality. What Unreasonable Hospitality Means Here

Hospitality at Argyle isn't a department. It's practiced by every person who wears our badge, including, and especially, the people who keep this building running. When a resident isn't worrying about a flickering hallway light, a sticky door, or a slow drain, they're free to be fully present for the things that actually matter to them: a cup of coffee with a neighbor, a visit from their grandchildren, a quiet afternoon in their own apartment. That quiet, invisible work is the job. We call it Unreasonable Hospitality: going further than what's expected, noticing what nobody had to ask for, and treating every space in this building the way we'd want our own family cared for. The Role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day execution of Facilities Management functions throughout the community and grounds, reporting to the Director of Environmental Services. The core of this job is simple to say and demanding to do well: maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for every resident who calls Argyle home. That takes a working knowledge of building systems and the code requirements behind them, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, mechanical systems, and general equipment repair, along with the judgment to know when a fix is routine and when it's urgent because someone's safety or dignity depends on it. This is a team role. We need someone with sound organizational and time management skills who interacts positively with every member of our team, because facilities work here is never done in isolation. It's coordinated with care staff, dining, activities, and leadership, all pointed at the same goal: a building our residents are proud to call home. What Excellence Looks Like in This Role

Walking a hallway and fixing what nobody flagged yet, because you noticed it before a resident had to. Treating every apartment like someone's family is watching, because to that resident, it always is. Matching your urgency to who's affected, not just to the size of the work order. Being a calm, respectful, familiar presence in spaces where people live, not just spaces you're assigned to maintain. Taking pride in the parts of the building no one comments on, because that's usually a sign you did it right. What You'll Maintain

Plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems throughout the community General equipment repair and preventive maintenance Life safety systems and related code compliance Building interiors, exteriors, and grounds Timely, well-documented response to resident and staff work orders What You Bring

Three to five years of experience in a related field. We have a strong preference for candidates with one to two years of experience in the long-term care or healthcare industry, since this building is someone's home, not a job site, and that distinction matters in how the work gets done.
